January is done, phew. Valentine’s/Galentine’s has passed, aww. How about for the rest of this month of love, sending some your own way? Embracing yourself with the same kindness you radiate on the daily and bringing self-awareness into every routine could make all the difference to your outlook, self-esteem and the way you move through the world.
Own your morning, own your life.
It doesn’t need to start at a time that feels ungodly to you, just because you see others doing All The Things before 7am. Find your own ‘successful’ morning and reframe what it means to have a good start. It could involve movement, it could involve free writing or picking up the book you never seem to have time for. A ‘good’ morning is one that sets you up for a peaceful and productive day, so listening in to what that looks like for you ensures you’re moving mindfully.
Take care of the basics.
Foggy head, rumbling tummy, or feeling wiped out? We’ll take a presumptuous guess that you’re likely dehydrated right now. One of the simplest but greatest things you can do for yourself is to keep topped up. Coffee and tea don’t count! Aim for around 2 litres per day (more if you’re moving a lot), and build this healthy happy to become second nature.
Speak kindly
When discussing yourself with others, when speaking to yourself, when thinking/judging/critiquing yourself. Those kind words, thoughts and feelings that you soothe and support others with, experiment with directing towards yourself.
