If, like us, you managed to catch the action at FIFA’s 2023 Women’s World Cup, you’ll know it was an emotional rollercoaster to say the least. The elevation and awareness of women’s football was celebrated from the start of this tournament until the very last whistle. Watching these athletes represent their country was emotional, monumental and a celebration of the incredible talent each country has to offer.
Our Lionesses have been such huge advocates for #EqualPay and for raising the profile of sport for young girls all over the country. Their legacy isn’t over yet, and the defeat against Spain was by no means the end of their story. Led by brilliant coach, Sarina Wiegman, the true test of a team’s spirit is accepting defeat with grace, humility and with a fire in the belly to come back stronger. To learn from each game and refine the formation is Wiegman’s strength.
Advancement in sport for girls in the UK is going to change the next generation, the spotlight on women’s sport becoming brighter and brighter. We can’t wait to watch what happens.
